Samantha Adkins grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Canada. Following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather, she is a born story-teller. She studied journalism and professional writing at Mount Royal College in Alberta. She enjoys reading and writing in a variety of genres. Her writing is inspired by the works of Jane Austen, Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), Judy Blume, Louise Penny, Roald Dahl, Bodie Thoene, and Lois Lowry.
Samantha enjoys imagining well-known stories in different settings. Expectations, Suspiciously Reserved, and Banff Springs Abbey are inspired by Jane Austen’s novels. Envy and Not As They Appear imagine classic Biblical tales in modern settings.
Living on a small island off the West Coast of Canada, Samantha Adkins loves spending time at the ocean with her two children, teaching elementary school, and walking the rocky trails with her husband and friends. Reading and writing are the perfect pastimes for the long, rainy winter months.
