Hilary Walker hails from England but hopes you won’t hold that against her, as she does now have an American passport.
She studied European languages at Exeter, the same university as J.K. Rowling (just to name drop).
Hopeless at math, she joined the accounting firm Ernst & Young in London. After somehow passing the English CPA exams she transferred to their Frankfurt office where she met her American husband.
They each bought a horse (fulfilling a lifelong dream of Hilary’s) and competed in showjumping and dressage in their various countries of residence – Germany, Italy, England and the U.S. Therefore Hilary can truthfully say that she is an International Horse Rider.
Meanwhile, this boarding-convent-school raised girl had wandered badly from her Catholic faith. It took a Baptist writer to remind her that God loves us and wants us to live with Him forever in Heaven. Hilary Walker began earnestly worrying about the eternal future of herself, her husband and their son, and enjoys recounting how a Baptist brought her back into the Catholic Church.
Her short stories have won and placed in competitions in the U.K. and U.S. She now writes Christian Inspirational Fiction novels, usually including equine characters.
Brittle Diamonds was prompted by a scandal in Hilary’s parish church shortly after her return to the faith.
The Jack Harper Trilogy takes the reader into the world of a lapsed Catholic horse trainer.
Hilary Walker still competes in dressage and resides in Maryland with her husband, Thoroughbred cross and two British bulldogs.
